The State of Oregon received $220 million from the U. S. Department of Treasury in Hardest Hit Funds for foreclosure prevention. OHSI has dedicated $100 million to the Mortgage Payment Assistance (MPA) Program. The MPA Program will provide up to 12 months of mortgage payment assistance or $20,000, whichever comes first to eligible homeowners across the state. The program will make a five-year, non-recourse, zero-percent forgivable, non-amortized loan and junior lien. 20% of the principal will be forgiven each year with a five year maturity subject to the homeowner continuing to reside in the property. 

OHSI is considering an alternative payment process, designed to deliver funding to approved participants with non-participating servicers. To date, no applicants have been denied due to servicer non-participation. Applicants will be contacted when this process becomes available.
